Because of the rapidly changing product lines and complex descriptions, creating these small brochures quickly can be a nightmare. This is where Babelfish comes in. Storing all the images and logos in a central system means accurate and consistent graphics are used. Coupled with Babelfish's ability to import spreadsheets of data from product managers, this means the pages are not just created quickly and automatically, but they're much closer to being right first time. If any amends are needed, (particularly price changes in this rapidly moving market) then fresh data can be imported into Babelfish from the Product Managers and the InDesign pages updated automatically.
The pages created follow the rules set out in Babelfish which places the products on the page with the correct image, heading, text, price points, logos and icons. Once on the page designers are free to make any aesthetic changes they want. Moving items or changing their appearance doesn't break the link back to Babelfish so designers have complete creative freedom.
Brochure creation has been dramatically speeded up, reducing the design time taken from 3-4 days to less than one.
