The Matrix PoS System provides a fully automated solution for the creation of digital point of sale artworks such as shelf-edge tickets, posters and display banners. It is based on the award winning 4th Dimension database application giving it unrivalled speed, stability and flexibility and enabling it to produce the high volumes of artworks required by customers such as Sainsburys, Safeway, Co-op, Homebase, Iceland, Kwik Save and V-Shop. The system is scalable by use of a "distributed processing model", which means if you need more power or speed, you can just add another computer to the network.
The Matrix PoS System imports raw data, formats and configures the data according to a set of customer-defined rules and then exports the data to templates designed either internally or in QuarkXPress or InDesign. The exported artworks are then automatically delivered electronically to stores for printing as PDF or EPS files.
The system imports data from any delimited text file and then formats according to rules defined by the customer such as removing unwanted characters replacing abbreviations or changing the case of text to all upper-case, all lower-case or word-capitalised text.
The system then sorts the data and exports it to an unlimited number of pre-defined templates. These templates can be created using QuarkXPress or InDesign or can be created internally within the Matrix PoS system. The use of templates encourages standardisation and conformance to established brand guidelines as well as allowing changes to be made to fonts, colours backgrounds, etc. quickly and easily. The text is sized to fit the maximising the impact of the text on the artwork and making your point of sale artwork generate more revenue for you.
The exported files are then planned by the system by aisle order and quantity before being collated for each store. The files are then electronically distributed to stores for in-store printing, eliminating the logistical problems and cost overheads caused by printing at one source and distributing the printed materials nationwide. This also drastically reduces the turnaround time to get an offer into the store and allows for store or region specific offers to be distributed.
