Retrieva stores all the information about your media in Retrieva catalogue files.

A Retrieva catalogue is a single file that holds all the details about a collection of media.

By default, Retrieva doesn't import your media files themselves, only references to them, so it's easy to catalogue your media files wherever they are stored. You can change this behavior however, in the File Helpers section in Retrieva's Preferences settings.

To begin using Retrieva, create or open a catalogue, and you're ready to import and view your data.
